UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES

David Turner will be leading a six-week study group on Tuesday evenings beginning this Tuesday, October 30th from 7 to 8:30 pm, studying Phillip Yancey's wonderful book, "The Jesus I Never Knew".  All are welcome.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of our church is invited to speak to Pastor Jeff.  New members will be taking the vows of membership during worship on Sunday, November 11th.

All middle school youth are invited to the church for an evening of fun with Pastor Jeff on Wednesday, November 7th, from 6:30 to 9 pm.  Fun, games, and discussion.  (There is no school the next day because of a teacher convention, so it's kind of like the start of a weekend!)

An Invitation to Meet Individually with Pastor Jeff: Pastor Jeff would like to sit down to talk with every active member and friend of our church family for an hour or so.  These meetings can take place at the church, in people's homes, at workplaces, or at local restaurants.  What will be the subject of these conversations?  It's wide open -- wherever The Spirit leads.  It could be an opportunity to...

     * Learn more about one another's life stories.

     * Ask that "Pastor question" you've never had a chance to ask.

     * Express appreciation for some aspect of the Church.

     * Express a desire for the Church to offer something that it isn't presently offering.

You can schedule a meeting with Pastor Jeff either by speaking to him directly, or by speaking to Fred Coleman, our Office Minister.  Fred is in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (973-887-4657)

Pie Day at Morris View Nursing Home will be Wednesday, October 31st.  Please have your pies (can be Mrs. Smith) to Doris Bradley by 10 am on the 31st.  Doris can be reached at 973-887-3219 if you have any questions.

World Community Day (Church Women United) will be Friday, November 2nd, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.

ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

Walking is good for the body and soul.  If you would like to be a part of a network of walkers from within the church family, please speak to Al Booth or Linda Winz.

Do you have "fun"draising ideas for our church that emphasize the "fun" part?  Would you like to be part of a committee that brainstorms about fundraising ideas for our church to help reduce our operating budget deficit?  If so, you are invited to speak to Bruce Letsch, our Finance Chairperson.

A Breakfast for Men is held Tuesday mornings at 7 am at the Empire Diner on Route 46 East.  Freeform discussion is concluded with a prayer.  All men are welcome.

You are invited to bring non-perishable food items to church in support of the Parsippany Food Bank.  Please place the food in the bin in the the hallway near the church office.

Those willing to bring baked items, either home-made or store-bought, to be served at Coffee Hour, PLEASE sign up at the refreshment counter during Coffee Hour.
